4170 Boulevard des Forges. Trois Rivieres, QC
On our way to Shawinigan we stopped into Trois Rivieres to pick up some Quebec beers. La Barik was a nice small place with an excellent selection. The guy working there was really nice and he was giving us suggestions on what was new and which beers were seasonal/limited releases.
I highly recommend this place. Really easy to get to and about 5 minutes from the highway.
Trou Du Diable
412 Av Willow. Shawinigan, QC
Majority of the night we spent in Shawinigan we hung out at Trou Du Diable. Really nice bar, great atmosphere. Loved the red tables with the logo on it.
The food was incredible and affordable – burger was $14, steak and frites was $20. We did a tour at 3:30 and it was empty. By 5pm people were piling in. It was constantly packed until after midnight. One of the 2 guest beers on tap was Spearhead from Toronto!
Here are some pictures of the brewery:
Beers enjoyed – Blanche de Shawi, P’tite Buteuse, Biscornue Pale Ale, (guest tap) Charlevoix Pale Lager, La Shawinigan Handshake, Weizgripp India Weizen, Diable Buteuse, La Dubaï Pillée (my favorite)
540 Ave Broadway. Shawinigan, QC
We walked around Shawinigan and ended up at Broadway pub. A really big place. Pretty empty for a Saturday night. They had 3 pool tables ($1)and a big patio.
I found this picture funny on the bathroom door.
Beers enjoyed – Mary Poppins, Elixir de Belphegor
